Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Sunset · Beach Bar · Rota, a hidden gem nestled along the shoreline of Playa de la Costilla in the picturesque town of Rota, Cadiz, Spain. Set against the stunning backdrop of the setting sun, this bar effortlessly blends relaxation with the vibrant essence of beach life.

The ambiance here is captivating. Patrons rave about the breathtaking views, making it one of the best spots in Rota to soak in the sunset. With a cozy setup, the bar fills up quickly, but the good news is that seats open up regularly, ensuring minimal wait times. As a traveler or local, you can expect a laid-back environment that is welcoming to families and groups alike.

While the menu primarily highlights a variety of refreshing drinks, from tropical cocktails to classic beverages, the experience is about so much more than just what’s on the menu. As noted by a satisfied customer, Chris Day, "5 stars all the way." Although dining options are limited to a few desserts, the bar's vibrant gathering atmosphere makes it the perfect place for drinks by the beach. For those hoping to dine on a more substantial meal, a broader range of food offerings would truly elevate the experience, especially for families looking to spend more time enjoying the sand and surf.

Many guests recommend placing drink orders from the main menu for consistent quality and service, noting that while sitting under the tiki hut provides a charming vibe, the wait times can be longer. As Gene Ramos II highlights, "It gets full quick but I've not waited more than 10 minutes in over a month" – a testament to the friendly and efficient service staff who do their best to accommodate patrons.

The delightful atmosphere paired with expertly crafted drinks truly sets Sunset · Beach Bar · Rota apart. It's not just a bar; it's an experience that invites you to unwind, embrace the coastal lifestyle, and relish the beauty of golden sunsets. 5 stars all the way. Never eaten here but ordered drinks on many occasions. Highly recommend this place

Best spot in Rota to watch the sun set. It gets full quick but seats open regularly I have not waited more than 10 in over a month.

This place is located right on the beach and usually has the perfect scenery. Great spot for families to hang out together for drinks. I believe my service has been better when I sit near the main building. When under the tiki hut, service is slower, and the drinks sometimes take a while and don't always come out the best. I recommend ordering drinks off of the menu, those always turn out the better.

They only have drinks and 1 or 2 postre, so we cant order food. It would be great if they have food actually, so we can stay more longer with kids playing in the sand.

Food was delicious! Found a place with some good sashimi

I loved this place from the moment I set foot in it! The server was super busy but friendly. A glass of decent wine was 3.50 Euros. Now you can't beat that, along with a gorgeous sunset and the sun going down at 9PM! Yes, you read that right.

They were pretty busy so with revising the review in the future, and I'm rating food as their cocktails, they don't really have food. The cocktails were ok, the scenic views and atmosphere definitely make up for the cocktail shortcomings.
